The hilly town of Sirinci.Tasteful boutiques in SiriciWearing: Editorial skirt, Forever 21 top, Converse shoes, Michael Kors purse
A morning spent in the tranquil town of Sirinci. A beautifully intimate hill town with only 600 habitants situated by the Aegean coast in the province of Izmir, Turkey. Sirince’s mountain side location with the red title roofs are what make this town so lovely.
Sirinci is known for its traditional wine production making wine tastings very popular when tourists come to enjoy this town. Also, local restaurants offer delicious traditional Turkish food. I had a cheese and spinach Pide (similar to a crepe) with a freshly pressed orange juice. Then I had a chocolate smoothie, not very Turkish but it was good.
Sirinci was once named Cirkince which means ugly in Turkish. This was to prevent curious outsiders from visiting. Later when a minister found himself here, he thought the village to be everything but ugly. The name was then changed from Cirkince to Sirince which translates to cute or pretty. Sirinci (cute) is definitely more fitting.
Until next time,
